As I dive deeper and deeper into the culinary world, I’ve come to appreciate the belittled bakers of small, unremarkable bakeries all over. They may only work in the corner bakery and putting out common pastries, but each, all on their own are very talented. It took years of experience and schooling to consistently produce these little delights for consumers like us. We may somedays walk...

Tofu
People think tofu is just tofu. Wrong there is good quality tofu and bad quality tofu. Usually the fresher of the two is the higher quality. To preserve tofu many places store it at a temperature that is TOO low causing water molecules to expand creating spongy tofu. This tofu might be liked by some but its considered lower quality. So when you go to a restaurant and get tofu dish and the tofu...

Sushi? more like So Complicated!
I was eating a salad in my school’s cafeteria today because only three weeks in and I’m sick of the food here. It is the same thing everyday, with limited healthy choices. Last semester it was a little more bearable because I’d always get the cheese sticks. I am an avid fan of cheese. The taste, texture, and smell is so mouth watering to me but, I know the saturated fats and...
Valentine worthy Rice Krispy Treats
I thought it would be suiting to make Rice Krispy Treats my first cooking experiment seeing as how it was the first thing I failed to make at my Biffle’s house. You see, we were young and new to the world that freshmen year of high school. Our magic in the kitchen consisted of: 1. Remove plastic wrap and open container, 2. Pour in water, and 3. Microwave until noodles have softened. I had a...
